AB Testing is a process of comparing two versions of the same product to determine which one performs better.
To put it simply, you might want to test a particular product in your store. Let's say, for instance, a skateboard. In your store, you have a product name, caption/description, price, and photos (Variant A is going to be your baseline or the variant whose attributes cannot be changed. This will be compared to if you decided to make changes to its attribute when running a test to see if your buyers would convert or engage more). Below is a sample where you can change the Product Name, the copy or description of the product, photos, and pricing.
Variant A shows basic details (originally this is what you have in your store) while Variant B (shows a modified product name, description, more photos, and a slightly higher price - This is for the testing). See, we have the same product (only with different ways to present them to buyers).
Once you have created your test, you have to decide how long you'd like to run this. We suggest striking a balance between running it too short or too long to avoid skewed results. Two weeks is recommendable.
AB Testing allows you to see what version of the product drives more conversion. This is backed by data gathered over time to see which is actually the winning variant. You are no longer on the side of wishing the customers would respond to your product because the test was able to show you which one actually won.
